Shoal Bay
Shoal Bay was supposedly named by Governor Lachlan Macquarie because of the sand shoals that exist there. Shoal Bay overlooks the magnificent Tomaree and Yacaaba headlands. Sweeping beach fronting Shoal Bay is clean and unspoilt; the water is clear and sparkling. This village provides many eateries/restaurants and a good shopping centre, and a variety of activities, including bike hire, catamaran hire and walking tracks through Tomaree National Park all on or near the beach front. There is a two lane boat ramp giving easy access to the Heads for the outside fisherman. Excellent rock fishing is available from the Headland or Ocean Beaches.
